Steven & Virginie were fav’s of ECBF this past fall. They have been instrumental in the popularity of Blues Dancing. And NO ONE moves like these two! We'll be blues’n every day -day or night. Check it out.

They are one of the best couples in the world -- master dancers & teachers of all styles - Lindy, Blues, Charleston, Cakewalk.
Steven Mitchell is Frankie Manning’s protege. He and Virginie have shaped the lindy hoppers of today: Skye Humphries, Peter Strom, the Harlem Hotshots. Anyone who has ever been to Herrang knows Steven.
We’ll focus on Lindy Saturday during the day with Steven & Virginie’s choice!
Herrang’s Chester Whitmore joins S & V to teach a morning warm-up & evening jazz.
Chester is as close to a human cartoon character as you will ever meet- Gumby, Popeye & Speedy Gonzales wrapped up into one!

Who are Steven & Virginie?
Steven is largely responsible for the current worldwide popularity of Lindy Hop. In 1983 Steven located Frankie Manning, one of the original creators of Lindy Hop (Savoy Ballroom in the 1930's.) Steven convinced Frankie to teach him & his partner the "Savoy Style" -- Steven has been spreading the dance ever since! He tours constantly worldwide, Herrang, Australia, Italy, Boston, Switzerland, Japan, etc. - teaching Lindy, Blues & Jazz. He has a special gift of getting dancers of all levels to feel the music in their bodies and move in ways they didn't know they could!
Virginie has been teaching with Steven Mitchell since 1999. She creates a sensation wherever she goes with her unique mix of French accented swivels and San Francisco funk. She draws on her extensive background in dance, including 13 years of ballet training and performance and her experience as a champion French ballroom dancer. Virginie delights in helping Lindy Hop follows get in touch with their sassy side!
